Lisa Kay, Founder of Sole Bliss, has been designing shoes for 30 years. It wasn’t until she started growing a bunion on the base of her big toe that she looked into just how many women were suffering.

There are more than 10 million women with bunions in the UK alone!

That’s when the idea of Sole Bliss – stylish shoes for bunions and wide feet – was born.

After 5 years of Research & Development with European artisans and British podiatrists, the first collection of Sole Bliss heels for bunions was launched in 2017, featuring our Miracle Comfort Technology and Bunion Bed® stretch panel.

Not Just For Bunions

As the years progressed, we expanded our collection from heels to flats, trainers, sandals, boots and more – all designed with superior comfort for bunion sufferers. 

At the same time, we began to receive feedback from customers who suffered from a variety of other foot problems, telling us how comfortable our shoes were for them too. 

So we recently decided to conduct a survey to find out exactly which foot conditions our customers were finding our shoes so comfortable for! Here’s what we found…

77% suffer from Bunions

20.3% suffer from Plantar Fasciitis and Heel Spurs

21.4% suffer from Hammer Toes

17.8% have Flat Feet

6% suffer from Morton’s Neuroma

1.5% suffer from Diabetic Neuropathy

And 96% said they would recommend Sole Bliss shoes to friends and family.

We obsess over every detail of your shoes in order to deliver unrivalled comfort, without sacrificing on style.

Founder and Designer Lisa Kay has her hand in every stage of production. She thinks ahead of the seasons, taking customer feedback into consideration as she gathers inspiration from runway and fashion trends. Lisa analyses colour swatches and mood-boards, experiments with styles, and sketches her designs in loving detail. 

Lisa personally travels to our family-run factories in Italy and Spain to survey our locally and ethically sourced leathers, selecting only the highest quality materials. There, she works with artisans who have decades of generational shoemaking expertise and develops our proprietary moulds (also known as ‘lasts’) which accommodate our customers’ foot-shapes. These moulds are used to create unique, beautiful shoes for bunions, wide feet and other foot issues. 

Podiatrist Approved

When samples are ready, we consult our team of expert podiatrists to ensure that every shoe delivers on our promise of comfort. Then we fit-test on dozens of women with a variety of foot issues, shapes, and needs.

Lisa tries on every sample to verify the comfort, wearability and precision of all our luxury features - from the triple-layer memory foam cushioning to the innovative Bunion Bed stretch panel.

Only samples that hit Lisa’s high standards for comfort, aesthetics and quality get approved to be made into shoes for our customers!
