What are the Biggest Shoe Shopping Towns in the UK?

Brits love shoe shopping! There are an estimated 4,500 shoe shops across towns in the UK. And now, Sole Bliss can reveal which are the biggest shoeaholic towns in the UK.

We took into consideration metrics including population, purchased pairs of shoes and annual spend to determine which towns have the biggest consumption of shoes per capita in the country.

And the results are in…the town with the highest consumption of shoes in the country is Guildford.

The average Guildford resident has purchased 7.2 pairs of shoes in 2021. In second place is Chichester with an average of 6.8 pairs. In third place is Liverpool with 6.7 pairs.

The report also revealed that shoe shoppers in 2021 were most likely to purchase Trainers. The least commonly purchased type of shoe in 2021 was High Heels.

The average British woman owns 11 pairs of shoes, whereas the average Guildford woman owns 19 pairs.

78% of women said that they were more likely to buy shoes online in 2021 than in 2020.
